Wednesday 27th September
To make the most active day of the year really count, we decided to get involved and do what we do best. Motivate! But we wanted to see if we could make a difference by motivating a younger crowd.
Tina and Tom set off for Finchampstead Primary School excited about putting the children through their paces. Their warm up included a mile run around the playing field!
The kids absolutely loved it and every single one ran the whole mile, despite some muddy conditions. Tom said:
“It was wonderful to see how much they enjoyed being outside and letting themselves fly across the field alongside their teachers, who threw themselves into the task with great enthusiasm. It really did set the kids up for the day.”
When everyone was back in school, Tina and Tom took each class in turn for some bodyweight training, which included star jumps and tuck jumps to some motivating music. The kids (and teachers) loved our team, the sound of music filling their hall and the chance to jump around.
It was rewarding to see how easily the youngsters took to fitness activities and we think that their parents might have noticed a few yawns at bedtime! Tina and Tom were impressed with the children’s enthusiasm, let’s hope more schools get the fitness bug and teach their children the importance of exercise.
