5 days, 640 kms, 2 bikes
UCI Track Cycling World Championship 2018
We set an incredible challenge for our members and Gym Team to cycle 640km, the distance to the Apeldoorn Velodrome in Holland on watt bikes to celebrate the UCI Track Cycling World Championships. You braved snow, wind and freezing temperatures to get to Pulse 8 and we can confirm…our goal was achieved!
After the Gym Team’s expert interior design skills, the stage was set in the Pulse 8 Café complete with bunting, balloons and tulips, all symbols and colours of Holland. Wednesday 28th February saw the beginning of our epic challenge. Eight members and our Gym Team took to the 2 watt bikes and by the end of the day pedalled an impressive 115km. Over the next few days many of you hopped on a bike and the kilometres kept building but the snow kept falling. We saw fewer members in the gym as weather conditions worsened making travel difficult. But the elements were not enough to stop our driven members and Gym Team on reaching for that final distance.
Our Gym Team loved organising, creating and taking part in our Cycling Challenge and we hope you did too. If you missed out on the challenge this time around, make sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for the latest news on our future upcoming events, challenges and competitions.
